Event Description

Gear up coders, here is something interesting coming up for you this TechNITi'18 : 'HACK@NITJ'

It is an event where programmers collaboratively code in an extreme manner over a short period of time. While working on a particular project, the idea is for each developer to have the ability to find out the best possible solution through quick and innovative coding approach.

1. Online Screening Round

In this round, all the members of the team can participate, but at a time, only one member can make submission and the platform for this round will be Coding Ninjas.
In order to get familiar with the platform, it is recommended to make a sample submission at their platform.

2. Ideathon

Teams are expected to pick one of the themes and submit their ideas regarding the problem statement. The idea should be concise and should contain an architecture or a high level abstraction of your idea in terms of block diagram and we expect you to explain the technology that you will be using. You are required to submit the ideas in PPT (max 13 MB) format via mail at hacknitj.techniti@gmail.com

3. Hackathon

Teams shortlisted from the Ideathon are invited for an On-Fest Development round. Hackathon will start at 10 AM in the morning will be 24 hr long. There will be mid-day evaluations during the coding round and the winners will only be announced on the subsequent day after evaluating protypes of all the teams. The code repository must be maintained as a Github repository and the final commit before the end time will be considered as the final solution. A proper Readme file stating the instructions to run the prototype must be maintained on Github.

Important Rules

Team of 3 members is allowed. Only one member should register the team.

Participants shall accept full responsibility for their own work and ensure to work as a team.

The participants should use only open source technologies in their prototypes. They can’t use any licensed software or codebase even if they have proper license.

Participants shall work to follow professional standards, when available, that are most appropriate for the task at hand, departing from these only when ethically or technically justified

Participants shall ensure adequate testing, debugging, and review of software and related documents before submission.

Participants shall not knowingly or unknowingly use software that is obtained or retained either illegally or unethically, which includes using copyrighted software or code, Teamviewer and any such similar softwares. Participants will be immediately disqualified if they are found using it.

Disclose any conflicts of interest that cannot reasonably be avoided or escaped.

Any malicious attempt will lead to disqualification of the team.

Participants are not allowed to exit the venue until the prize distribution. Special assistance will be provided on request.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and stay will be provided to all participants at NITJ.

All the participants are requested submit the luggage at the cloak room.

It is the sole responsibility of the paticipants to safeguard their belongings during the event.

In case of any emergency or medical assistance, please reach out to the organizers.

In case of any disputes, the decision of the judges and the organisers will be final and bounding to all.
